Furniture Polish Restorer

Hopefully it won’t come as a surprise that I’m a bit of an eco warrior … As I haven’t posted anything about this for a while, I’d like to share a quick recipe with you.

This polish is fab to bring back life into your lovely wooden furniture.

One part each of Vinegar, Turpentine and Boiled Linseed Oil.

Measure into an old jam jar and shaky shaky. Apply the polish with wire wool working into the grain. Wipe off the excess with a clean soft cloth. (lint free)

As we all know vinegar is an excellent cleaning agent which will cut through grease. The turpentine opens up the grain to allow the wool to absorb the oil which feeds the wood. The vinegar and turps will quickly evaporate whilst the oil remains, drying more slowly. Boiled linseed oil is better than raw, as it has been treated and will dry quicker.

When the wood is dry it can be treated with beeswax to seal and protect. Leave for a few minutes then rub to a sheen with a soft cloth. You could apply 2 coats.
